The great weather, fantastic food and wine scenes, beaches, and many more are some of the main draws for visitors to these towns. Kelowna and West Kelowna are a perfect escape for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. This is because they offer several bike riding and hiking trails. You can also spend your days checking out the parks or shopping at one of the markets. In this article, we'll walk you through the points of interest in Kelowna and West Kelowna. Weather in Kelowna and West Kelowna These communities can be pretty hot during the summer months and quite chilly in the winder. However, they’re still milder than most communities in Canada. These features make Kelowna and West Kelowna beautiful destinations all through the year. However, some outdoor activities depend on the season, and it is crucial to take note of that. The summer months are pretty warm in these communities, with a maximum temperature of 28° Celsius and a low temperature of 11° Celsius. Therefore, you can cool off by spending your day at any beaches or participating in a water-based activity. The fall and spring are great times to visit Kelowna or West Kelowna. The two communities are connected properly by a bridge traversing the entire width of Lake Okanagan. You can soak up the beautiful nature as you row through the massive Okanagan Lake. The lake is 135km long, 5km wide, and about 230 meters deep. It is known as a fjord lake because repeated glaciations carved it out. Although the best way to enjoy the Okanagan lake is by being out in the water, you could also admire it from the shore or fly over it in a helicopter. This garden was created in 1987 to celebrate the friendship between Kasugai in Japan and Kelowna. It features pine trees, waterfalls, stone lanterns, and even a koi-stocked pond. In West Kelowna, you can visit the Gellatly Heritage Nut Farm to understand the heritage of the property and its connection to West Kelowna. It’s also a great spot to stock up on nuts. The Kettle Valley trail is famous as a hiking and bike riding trail. The trail begins at the Myra Canyon Provincial Park and takes you over 18 trestle bridges and two tunnels. The Waterfront Park is another popular place to visit as it also offers hikers a trail they can explore. You can also swim at its beach or visit its featured public art gallery. A hidden gem in West Kelowna is Pritchard park. It comes with a beautiful dock and a small park that provides a scenic view everywhere you turn. All you have to do is sit back and take in the beautiful scenery. You can also see Kelowna from the top of Kelowna Mountain park. It offers hike trails and is the largest natural area in Kelowna, making it a top point of interest. You can drive, bike, or hike up to the Knox Mountain top to enjoy the panoramic views it offers. Final Thoughts A trip to British Columbia isn’t complete without going to West Kelowna and Kelowna.
